Dr. Kedmon Hungwe

Educating for the future: Emerging opportunities and challenges for science teachers.

Dr. Kedmon Hungwe is currently Professor of Cognitive and Learning Sciences  in the Department of Cognitive and Learning Sciences at Michigan Technological University. He was previously affiliated with the University of Zimbabwe where he served as a Senior Lecturer in Educational Communications and Technology. Additionally, he has extensive experience  in science and mathematics education and has designed, implemented and evaluated many projects  in the USA and Zimbabwe. His teaching portfolio has covered the areas of teacher education, instructional technology,  and  psychology.

One strand of Dr. Hungwe’s research has focused on the development of spatial visualization in relation to STEM education, cognitive studies of work, and learning and instruction. He has   presented  in a wide range of national and international forums. His work has appeared in leading journals in psychology, education, and media, including Mind, Culture and Activity, Journal of Adult Development, Journal of Curriculum Studies, Media Culture and Society, Compare: A Journal of Comparative and International Education, and the Historical Journal of Film, Radio and Television. More recently Dr. Hungwe has initiated research on children and youth. He is a contributing author to four  Zimbabwean secondary school science textbooks that have been cited as exemplary by the USAID and the World Bank.  Dr. Hungwe has also served on professional panels of the National Science Foundation, the Michigan Department of Education, and the American Psychological Association Panel on Women with Disabilities in STEM Education (WWDSE).

Prof. Dr. Lucia Herrera Torres

Prof. Dr. Lucia Herrera Torres has a PhD in Psychology. Full Professor at the Department of Developmental and Educational Psychology (University of Granada, Spain). She is Dean of the Faculty of Education and Sports Sciences (University Campus of Melilla). Her awarded are third National Educational Research Award 2004 (Ministry of Education and Science of Spain), and Teaching Excellence Award 2010 (University of Granada). Dr. Rania Muhamad Qassrawi

Dr. Rania Muhamad Qassrawi is an Assistant professor at Birzeit University in Palestine. She received her Ph.D. in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from Yarmouk University, Jordan. She has been working at BZU since 2017 in the Languages and Translation Department as well as in the Faculty of Education. She has an interest in conducting research regarding the latest teaching methods with a special emphasis on the psychology of learning languages.

Prof. Avraam Sachpatzidis

Prof.Dr. Avraam Sachpatzidis is an active ICT Professor in Greece. He has experience in Adult Education of more than 17 years. He holds a Master of Education Degree in “Gender Studies and Information Technology” from the University of the Aegean and a second Master of Science Degree in “e-Business and Digital Marketing” at the University of Western Macedonia. His Ph.D. thesis at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki is in progress with the title ” Audiovisual creation and cultural communication with the use of New Technologies in Education”. He has published articles in greek and international journals, presented papers at international conferences and he is a former Badminton Europe Umpire.
His research interests are Education, Adult Education, Technical Education, New Technologies in Education, Visual Literacy, e-Commerce, e-Business, and Digital Marketing. He is at the moment the Director of Second Chance School in Naousa, Greece

Dr. Deborah Olufunmilayo Makinde is an experienced Academic who has progressed consistently from teaching to research to mentorship. She obtained B.Ed. (Hons) Special Education/Mathematics; M.Sc and PhD Mathematics, in 1997, 2000 and 2011 respectively with research interest complex Analysis with Applications and currently an Associate Professor at Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria.

Dr. Haya Fayyad Abu Hussein

Dr. Haya Fayyad Abu Hussein is an assistant professor at the Department of Languages and Translation at Birzeit University, Palestine. She received her (BA) in English Language and Literature from An Najah National University, and her (MA) in the Arts of Teaching English from Al-Quds University-Bard College programme. In 2016, she was awarded a Fulbright Distinguished Award in Teaching at Indiana University in the United States of America. She completed her Doctorate at Yarmouk University, Jordan in Curriculum Studies and Methods of Teaching English as a Foreign Language. Dr. Fayyad Abuhussein is also a visiting research fellow at St. Antony’s and the Middle East Centre, University of Oxford. In her research, Dr. Fayyad Abuhussein is interested in curriculum and TEFL studies.

Mr. Tawia Iddrisu Frimpong

Mr. Tawia Iddrisu Frimpong did his B.Ed. at the University of Education, Winneba- Ghana. He further did both his Bachelor’s honors in Education (B.Ed. HONORS) and Master’s in Education (M.Ed.) at the University of KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. He is currently a Ph.D. student at the University of KwaZulu Natal, South Africa specializing in mathematics education. In addition, he is now a Mathematical literacy educator and a deputy Principal at Christian High School. For the past 13 years, he has been teaching learners mathematics in the 8th and 9th Grades. Also, he has been teaching learners from grade 10 to grade 12 mathematical literacy for about 7 years within the same 13-year period. His area of interest is mathematics and mathematical literacy teaching and learning particularly focusing on error analysis in mathematics, teaching strategies in mathematics, assessment in mathematics, and interventions to improve mathematics, at the basic school level.

REV. Korunananda Sramon

REV. Korunananda Sramon educational background consists of a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Pali and Sanskrit, and a Master of Arts degree with a major in English from Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University (MCU). He possess credentials in the Novice School and International Tipitaka studies. Currently, he is teaching Pali Abhidhamma at his temple and serving as a guest lecturer at MCU. He intends to pursue his Ph.D. in Buddhism of Philosophy.

Ms. Ann Mary George

Ms. Ann Mary George is a Research Scholar at Christ ( Deemed to be University) in Bengaluru. She is currently working in an ed-tech focused on catalysing early childhood education (ECE) and community engagement prior to which she worked with Teach for India as a government school teacher. During the course of her graduation and post-graduation in Economics she has actively contributed towards the departmental activities and was the event head for the National Level Economics Fest 2015. She has presented various research papers at several national and international conferences including wining the best paper award at the International Conference on “Business Dynamics and Sustainable Development 2020” at St Joseph’s College Bengaluru. The research domains pursued focus on human capital development and solid waste management.

Dr. Elerian has a PhD in International Relations and European Studies (University of Nicosia) and a Master’s degree in History (Nicolaus Copernicus University). Her research focus is on multiple dimensions of international education, including international schools, international mindedness, global citizenship and intercultural education. She is a member of the British Society for Educational Studies and a member of the Roster of professionals for the Association for Historical Dialogue and Research (Cyprus). Having completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Education, Dr. Elerian has pedagogical competence in lesson planning & implementation, assessment, class management, and resource development. She is an Assessment Specialist for Cambridge Assessment International Education and has been involved in various international educational programs, such as Model United Nations, European Youth Parliament, International Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, and World-Class Scholar Program.

Veronica Gamboa is an Assistant Professor in De La Salle – College of Saint Benilde in Manila, Philippines where she has been teaching Business and IT subjects for more than 13 years. Veron is also the Vice President for Market Planning and Development of Eductechnologies Provider Incorporated, Philippines. She is currently pursuing a course in Doctor of Business Administration at the  De La Salle University, Manila where she also earned her degree in  Master of Business Administration.  She also worked as an Assistant Professor and Internal Verifier for U.K. and Australian-based academic programs delivered in the Philippines.
